About Us

Since 1966, the Western Dairyland Head Start program has been preparing young children ages three to five to succeed in school and beyond in Buffalo, Eau Claire, Jackson, and Trempealeau counties. The Early Head Start program for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women was added in September 2015. Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote children's development through services that support early learning, health, and family well-being. Learn more about Head Start.

Western Dairyland Head Start partners with school districts within our service area to provide 4K services to enrolled children. Our Head Start/4K teachers hold early childhood teaching degrees and licensure as required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The children enrolled in our 4K collaborative classrooms receive 4K instruction in conjunction with the many additional services Head Start offers children and families. We have 4K collaborative classrooms in Arcadia, Blair, Black River Falls, C-FC, Eau Claire, and Naples. We are accepting applications for the 2024-25 program year at all our locations.
