About Us

Since 1966, the Western Dairyland Head Start program has been preparing young children ages three to five to succeed in school and beyond in Buffalo, Eau Claire, Jackson, and Trempealeau counties. The Early Head Start program for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women was added in September 2015. Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote children's development through services that support early learning, health, and family well-being. Learn more about Head Start.

At Western Dairyland Head Start the health and safety of our staff and the children and families we serve is a top priority. We are currently working very hard to finalize our plan for safely reopening our sites and providing services to the children and families that have been accepted into our program for the 2020-21 program year. We are considering the plans of the school districts in which we collaborate to assist in our planning. Site staff will be contacting all newly accepted and previously enrolled returning families beginning the week of August 10. We appreciate your continued support and patience during these uncertain times.
