About Us

Since 1966, the Western Dairyland Head Start program has been preparing young children ages three to five to succeed in school and beyond in Buffalo, Eau Claire, Jackson, and Trempealeau counties. The Early Head Start program for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women was added in September 2015. Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote children's development through services that support early learning, health, and family well-being. Learn more about Head Start.

The health and safety of children and families is one of the top priorities of Head Start programs. One of the many ways we promote and ensure the safety of children in our program is through Active Supervision. Ongoing staff training and monitoring of Active Supervision is standard practice at Western Dairyland Head Start.
